Four people were injured after a two-vehicle collision involving an ambulance occurred in Nanaimo earlier today.
On Tuesday, February 25th at around 10:20 a.m., Nanaimo RCMP and other emergency services responded to a collision at the intersection of Dufferin Street and Boundary Avenue.
Police determined that a BCEHS ambulance with two paramedics and one passenger were travelling northbound on Boundary Avenue when it was struck by an older model vehicle travelling westbound on Dufferin Street.
The sole occupant and driver of the vehicle was an adult man, and was transported to the hospital where he’s receiving medical treatment.
Both paramedics and the patient were treated at the hospital for minor injuries.
The intersection was closed while investigators examined the scene and all traffic was rerouted, but was reopened to traffic at around 1 p.m. this afternoon.
