Medusa’s Shot House on lower Yates Street has closed its doors for good after just seven months of being open.
Prior to Medusa’s opening, the space was called Sonora Bar & Grill.
Last spring, the owners of Sonora decided that it was time for a fresh start and a rebrand, looking to do something that no one else in Victoria was doing.
The direction they took with Medusa’s was to become a ‘shot house,’ featuring a menu of over 150 creative shots for their patrons.
Additionally, after a bit of renovations, they focused on bringing in local DJs for entertainment to bring people into the nightclub.
With Medusa’s closed, the owners will be leaving the space, opting not to attempt another rebrand.
“With mixed feelings we say good bye to this chapter of our lives,” wrote Medusa’s on social media.
“Thank you for so much fun and shared histories!”
They added that it is time for them to focus on family and new opportunities.
Medusa’s opened its doors last June, and closed up shop officially on Sunday, January 5th.
