Ready your bibs and bellies, Victoria—there’s a huge ribfest coming next weekend!

The Esquimalt Ribfest welcomes visitors and locals alike for the ultimate foodie event, centered around mouth-watering BBQ delectables and all things smoke n’ spice.

As in previous years, it will take place at Bullen Park from Friday, September 6th to Sunday, September 8th, and proceeds will go towards an all-weather playing field.

The event will also include an exceptional lineup of live music, stretched across all three epic days—including Deb Rhymer Band, Bad Medicine, Groove Diggers, JaimesonRhy, Smokestacks and many more.

Check out their full schedule, here!

Also included in the Esquimalt Ribfest is a lovely list of brewers with a wide variety of delicious craft beer; and vendors, bringing attendees goodies ranging from craft items, additional foodie items, clothing, pet gear and more.

Brewers will include Vancouver Island Brewing, Lighthouse Brewing Company, Junction Orchard & Cidery, Hoyne, Moon Under Water, along with plenty of others.

Get refreshed while you shop between BBQ bites!

According to the Ribfest website, Esquimalt is the only municipality without an all-weather playing surface or turf field, so the local kids have to travel out of Esquimalt when the fall and winter rolls around.

Eventually, they want to install a synthetic, state-of-the-art turf field—introducing year-round soccer, field lacrosse, rugby and general-purpose use to the community.

Additionally, they want to have a grandstand for larger events, as well as changerooms, washrooms and a meeting area inside a field house.

Overall, the project will cost around $4 million to $6 million and will be completed in stages as funds allow.
