We’ve selected a few of the best local ice cream shops in Victoria and have highlighted a couple of their unique offerings.

Beacon Drive In Restaurant
The Beacon Drive In Restaurant has been a local hotspot since their inception in 1958, and continues to be one of the best spots to stop for ice cream to this day.
Their classic recipe for soft-serve ice cream is unbeatable, especially when it’s mixed with slushie mix!
‘What’s that?’ you say? This iconic mixture of frozen treats is known to many as Screamers and Beacon Drive In happens to serve them—so you get to choose your own unique flavour adventure.
Get yourself one at $6.75 for the small size and $7.50 for the regular size.

49 Below Ice Cream
This team of ice cream connoisseurs are known for their creativity, collaboration with other community businesses, and focus on supporting local.
You’ll find flavours that are inspired by their curiosities—whether that’s travel, cuisines that caught their attention, pop culture, and plenty more!
Their flavours are always rotating, and right now they’ve highlighted the Franks Hot Sauce available for purchase until they run out. The Vietnamese Coffee is also worth trying.

Parachute Ice Cream
This cozy shop has a fairly interesting origin story. Essentially, a couple of local entrepreneurs thought it would be pretty awesome to start serving high-quality ice cream…so, that’s what they did!
And just like that, they bring you delicious, on-site made ice cream with local ingredients—including dairy-free options!
Their stand-out flavours at the Bridge Street location are Lemon Cream (GF), Bourbon Almond Roca (GF) and Fire Roasted S’mores. Their Goldstream Avenue location currently has Nerds (GF), Blackberry Lime Sorbet (GF/V) and Kahlua (GF).

Momo Tea
If you’re looking for a unique spin on soft-serve ice cream, you’re going to want to stop at Momo Tea.
They strive for delicious, creative, and beautiful in everything they release—and they are always introducing new flavours to try for the returning fans.
According to Momo, their top flavours to try right now are Dirty Oreo, Dirty Boba soft serve, Honey Comb and Rainbow Candy!

Cold Comfort Ice Cream
Cold Comfort is known for their unique flavours and commitment to serving real ice cream made from real ingredients.
They use organic BC cream, fresh eggs from happy island hens, fair trade sugar and chocolate, fresh fruit and seasonal flowers and herbs, and more!
To note in particular is their Hoyne Dark Matter ice cream served on a vanilla macaron, and Chatter Horchata, inspired by a classic Mexican drink consisting of rice, almond, cinnamon, organic cane sugar and coconut milk “ice cream” on cinnamon sugar dacquoise.

Virtuous Pie
Well known for their dairy-free/vegan pizza and macaroni & cheese, did you know they also sell ice cream?
Cashew-based and incredibly delicious, it’s worth stopping in while you’re out and about downtown—you can grab a cone or a pint to go.
At the moment, their menu features a delicious Lavender Blue flavour that you can get by the scoop or take a pint home with you.
