Nanaimo RCMP is looking for the public’s assistance in locating a suspect that allegedly stabbed a 52-year-old man last week.

On Friday, July 12th at around 3:30 a.m., police and emergency services responded to a stabbing report in the 400 block of Fitzwilliam Street.

The victim was treated at the scene and then transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police claim that the victim was uncooperative with investigators. He informed them that the suspect fled after the attack, but would not provide a description of the suspect or clarify which direction they went.

Police were unable to track down or locate the suspect.

The area was closed off while investigators documented and collected forensic evidence, and although the area is no longer blocked off, the investigation is ongoing.

If anyone has any information on the incident or witnessed anything, call Nanaimo RCMP at  (250) 754-2345.
