If you witnessed Santa getting arrested today in downtown Victoria, don’t worry, it was an imposter!
In a bizarre turn of events earlier Wednesday, the festive spirit took an unexpected twist when a man dressed as Santa Claus was apprehended by VicPD.
Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Douglas and Fort Streets just before 10:30 a.m. after it was reported a man was seen “waiving around a gun.”
The man was quickly located sitting on a nearby bench and was arrested without incident.
Surprisingly, this Saint Nick imposter wasn’t as kind as the man himself after he was found to have an outstanding warrant for uttering threats.
Though dressed for the part, his behavior clearly landed him on the naughty list this year.
No other details were released with the investigation ongoing.
