Each event provided on our highlight list for this Thursday is quite unique and we hope that you’ll find something fun and new to try.
Some of the activities are outdoors, so bundle up and have a terrifying time on a Ghostly Tour or rally together to make a difference with the Royal LePage walk for domestic abuse.

Royal LePage Shelter Foundation Night Light Walk
Walk for a good cause!
On Thursday, October 19th, join Victoria Buzz’s Nicole Bentham for the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation Night Light Walk.
Participants will first gather at the Esquimalt Gorge Park Pavilion and get the chance to listen to inspiring stories from survivors of abuse.
Once the speakers have shared their stories, the three kilometer walk through the community will begin—a united walk in the light to show support for those affected by domestic violence.
Everyone who walks will receive a Royal LePage Shelter Foundation Night Light Walk Knit Hat and LED bracelet.

Women of Pop at Lucky Bar
Looking to dance all night long?
Join Lucky Bar and friends for an evening dedicated to the queens of pop music!

Exploring truth and reconciliation with Duncan McCue
If you’re looking for ways to take further steps towards reconciliation, this virtual event is a must-see!
You’re invited to listen to Anishinaabe journalist Duncan McCue, as he draws on his award-winning podcast for a thoughtful reflection on building respectful relationships with Indigenous communities.
His lecture is titled, “Beyond Kuper Island: A Journalist’s Reflection on Truth and Reconciliation”—Kuper Island is an eight-part series podcast hosted by McCue on CBC that tells the stories of four students who attended one of the most notorious residential schools in Canada.
The event is free but registration is required.

THARTI HILDI: Bhangra Night
The UVIC Punjabi Students Association and Madness Events have banded together for an epic night of dancing and socializing.
Featured at the Wicket Hall, Dj Baz will be carrying the tunes for the evening and giving everyone their favourite Punjabi classics and Bhangra bangers!
General admission tickets are between $10 and $13 and can be purchased here.

Halloween Ghost Tour
Celebrate the season of horror by taking a tour of the local haunted hotspots!
Discover the Past has a variety of different tour options available under ‘Ghostly Walks’ depending on the time of year.
The Halloween special is only available until October 31st, so don’t miss out on a chilling evening stroll with petrifying with ghost stories and Victoria’s dark history.
Ticket prices vary, but general admission is $21 for adults and $16 for students.
