A regular morning routine ends with a huge prize!
Vera Strand purchased her favourite purple Set for Life and ended up waiting a few days to scratch it.
She had just sat down with her coffee and designated scratching dime, unveiling the three special symbols that would win her the game’s top prize of $675,000!
As described by Strand, she was completely ‘gobsmacked’ and couldn’t quite believe her eyes.
“I FaceTimed my daughter to ask her if I was seeing things,” said Strand.
“I thought, ‘Wow, I have won!’”
To celebrate, she’s going to host some family dinners—cheers to that, indeed!
Strand confessed she has no idea what she’ll be using the money for, but knows it will aid in retirement and crossing off some bucket list items.
Strand purchased the winning ticket at the Fairway Market on Rutherford Road in Nanaimo.
According to the release, so far in 2023, BC lottery players redeemed more than $8 million in Set for Life prizes!
