The Spot Prawn Festival is returning to James Bay next weekend

Share

What goes well with live music and a rugby tournament, you ask?

BC spot prawns, of course!

This is the Spot Prawn Festival’s second year running – reporting over 10,000 visitors last year!

They’re turning up the heat for 2023, with two days of rugby (in cooperation with the James Bay Athletics Association) and music performances from multiple artists!

All of this is topped with food trucks, local vendors, and a licensed area for your enjoyment.

This family event at Macdonald Park in James Bay is free to attend (though, they’ll be accepting donations) on Saturday, May 27th and Sunday, May 28th – just bring your appetite!

Bring your furry friends, too! Nirvana Pet Resort Inc. will have a dog grooming station offering quick services. Take a selfie with your trimmed doggo at the photobooth they’ll provide.

Part of the proceeds will be donated to the James Bay Athletics Association to support their growing programs, which are designed to provide a safe and inclusive space for everyone to enjoy or try different sports.

If you’re interested in helping out at this year’s festival, you can view volunteer opportunities here.
