Saanich School District closes schools Tuesday following overnight snowfall

Just when you thought it was time to pack away those snow boots…

As snowfall has blanketed most of Victoria and the surrounding areas, the result is slippery road conditions and some cancellations of services and school openings, including Saanich School District (SD63).

In a tweet Tuesday morning, SD63 stated that all schools in the Saanich district would be closed for the day due to unsafe road conditions on the peninsula.

Similarly, the Sooke School District (SD62) announced via social media that they would keep their schools closed until noon today.

Additionally, Camosun College and UVic will not have classes until noon today.

The Greater Victoria School District (SD61) will remain open despite the above closures.

BC Transit also announced early Tuesday morning that all service across Greater Victoria would be suspended, although some service may gradually resume as the
