Let the bidding begin!

If you’ve always wanted to party at sea with your family and closest friends, now is your chance!

Or if you’re looking to upgrade your current living situation/means of transportation, a decommissioned BC Ferries vessel is currently up for sale and it could be all yours.

You could invite 400 of your closest friends and throw a rager on this party barge if you win the bidding war for this vessel. The current high offer stands at $200,000.

It’s a 1965 passenger and vehicle ferry that unloads from both the front end and the back much like many of the Gulf Islands ferries.

Currently it’s docked on Quadra Island where it is being auctioned off by IronPlanet. The ferry has a full inspection report and a list of specifications on the auctioneer website.

You can also browse through over 360 photos of the vessel to see if it would be the right fit for you and your family.

And hey, if you don’t have $200,000 of liquid money, there are financing options available so you can still throw your name in the hat and make a bid.

While the ferry was still in use up until recently, the 58-year-old Powell River Queen, which sails on the Campbell River – Quadra Island route, will be available to a new owner starting in early 2023.

The vessel will be replaced with two new hybrid-electric Island class vessels.
