This one is simply, “Perfect,” Victoria!
In some news that is going to make many feel like screaming “I’m Just a Kid” again, Simple Plan has announced new North American tour dates, with a show landing in Victoria on Tuesday, January 26th at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.
The Canadian rock band is one of the most popular and iconic groups that the country has ever produced, with millions of streams worldwide and hit songs like “Welcome to my Life,” “Jet Lag” and “Summer Paradise” topping charts around the world from the early 2000s to the 2010s.
Some may even recognize the band from the What’s New, Scooby-Doo? television series, for which Simple Plan provided the theme song.
The band will be in good company on the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre stage, sharing it with some other Canadian and American rock icons.
They’ll be joined by Bowling for Soup, most known for the song that may just be the most played in karaoke bars around the globe, “1985.”
The band took over radio waves in the early 2000s alongside Simple Plan, making the pairing an appealing one for many fans of 2000s rock music.
Bowling for Soup may also be known to a younger audience for their work on the theme song of Disney’s hit TV series Phineas and Ferb.
Canadian pop rock band Mariana’s Trench will also support the headliners. Headed by frontman Josh Ramsey, the band made waves in the pop, rock and scene communities in the 2010s.
With three-times platinum singles like “Stutter,” “Haven’t Had Enough” and “Desperate Measures,” alongside hit albums like Ever After and Masterpiece Theatre, the band became a phenomenon in the 2010s, particularly in Canadian classrooms and on Canadian air waves.
Tickets for the January performance go on sale on Friday, October 9th, while Platinum tickets will be available as of 12 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6th.
