Election day has arrived across Greater Victoria, and Victoria Buzz will be with you through every race as the results come in tonight.
Polls close at 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 17th. Once counting begins, readers will be able to follow the latest unofficial results through the new Victoria Buzz Election Portal.
The interactive dashboard brings mayoral, council and school trustee races together in one place, making it easy to move between communities without opening dozens of different websites or browser tabs.
Readers can explore races across Greater Victoria, selected Island communities and Vancouver Island school districts. Before the polls close, the portal can also be used to review candidates and see which races have already been decided by acclamation.
At 8 p.m., the dashboard will automatically move into live-results mode. New numbers will appear as they are reported, and the results page will continue checking for saved updates throughout the night.
Inside the Victoria Buzz Election Desk
Mike and Seanna will be monitoring the Victoria Buzz Election Desk throughout the evening, watching individual races and posting updates as meaningful developments happen.
Those updates will appear directly inside the Election Portal, allowing readers to quickly see changing leads, newly reported totals and confirmed elected or acclaimed statuses. When a development needs more context, the Victoria Buzz team will publish a full story and connect it to the live coverage.

The dashboard is designed to keep everything easy to follow on both mobile phones and desktop computers. Readers can focus on one community, switch to school trustee races or return to an overview of the region at any time.
All vote totals should be considered unofficial until confirmed by the appropriate local jurisdiction. A candidate shown as leading has the highest reported total at that moment—it is not a projection by Victoria Buzz.
