Have you planned out how to get to the polls on election day?

After voting in the local elections this past weekend, BC residents will be returning to the polls this Saturday, October 24th for the upcoming provincial election.

For those who have yet to plan their trip to their voting location, BC Transit will be offering free transit across the province on Saturday.

BC Transit says the decision to offer free transit comes from partnerships with local government partners across the province.

In addition to the Victoria Regional Transit System, the following regions on Vancouver Island will have free transit on general voting day:

  • Campbell River
  • Comox Valley
  • Cowichan Valley — excluding interregional Routes 66 CVX, 99 SVX and 70 NCX
  • Nanaimo — excluding interregional Route 70 NCX
  • Port Alberni
  • Salt Spring Island

The Victoria Regional Transit System includes all surrounding municipalities within Greater Victoria.

BC Transit says free transit includes handyDART service in all above regions.
