The world’s largest streaming service just gave Victoria and several businesses a major shoutout on their social media!

While promoting the new Netflix Original Crew Girl, the streaming service posted a video to their Facebook and Instagram accounts featuring the show’s stars mentioning some of their favourite things they encountered while filming on southern Vancouver Island.

The streaming service has more than 206 million followers on Facebook and 1.7 million on Instagram.

Crew Girl released its first season on Thursday, September 10th, and has already been creating some buzz around the city.

The show was filmed throughout Greater Victoria, including in Victoria and Sidney, with several familiar locations showcased throughout the show.

In the video, Miku Martineau, Samuel Braun and Kyle Clark, the stars of the show, are seen laughing and reminiscing about their time in Victoria while listing their favourite things about the city.

Among the list of shout outs were some of the crew’s favourite restaurants, attractions, food and people.

The crew clearly had fun and made the most of their time in Victoria, with some deep cuts and local favourites making it into the video.

Alongside the city of Victoria itself, the list of shoutouts include Elk Lake, Hawkins Cheezies, 10 Acres Bistro, Deep Cove Chalet, IMAX Victoria, the Victoria Bug Zoo, Crab Catcher, Irish Times and the Victoria Rowing Club.

They also gave some love to their “amazing” fellow cast member Olympic gold-winning rowing coxswain Terry Paul, who helped train the casting crew.

Many of these things are part of day-to-day life in Victoria, and they clearly made an impression on the cast of Crew Girl.

Anyone who takes the time to appreciate the finer parts of life in Victoria is more than welcome in the city. Here’s hoping the crew makes a return to Victoria for season two!
