Looking for a fun weekend at one of the region’s most impressive landmarks?
Malahat Skywalk is launching its first-ever SkyWalk Brewfest on Saturday, October 3rd, bringing some of Vancouver Island’s renowned breweries together for a festival that is bound to be one of the most exciting events this fall.
The event will take place outdoors at the Tower Plaza from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., allowing guests to sample more than 30 craft beverages while enjoying the stunning views around the Malahat Skywalk.
The SkyWalk Brewfest lineup will include some of the biggest names in the Vancouver Island brewing industry, including Deadhead Brew Co., Hoyne Brewing, Merridale Cidery & Distillery, Vancouver Island Brewing, Red Arrow Brewing, Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse, Brass Monkey Brewing & Taproom, Driftwood Brewery, Serious Brewing Company and Ace Brewing Company.
Non-alcohol selections will be available.
“We wanted to create more than a traditional tasting event,” said Jadrian Berkan, Brand and Marketing Manager at Malahat SkyWalk.
“This is an afternoon built around local flavour, outdoor connection, creativity and the full SkyWalk experience at one of the most beautiful times of year.”
While the drinks may be the main attraction, there will be plenty happening throughout the afternoon.The festival will also include several events taking place throughout the day.
DJ Island Rob will provide lo-fi beats and laid-back tunes for attendees to enjoy. He will also host two rounds of music trivia in the early afternoon.
There will also be plenty of other entertainment at the festival including lawn and pub games and a station where guests can design their own beer label, with prizes going out to the best labels.
In true October fashion, the festival will also feature pumpkins and seasonal displays, as well as seasonal food from a variety of local vendors.
Festival wristbands are $20 each and include four tasting tokens that can be exchanged for tasting samples. Additional samples can be purchased for $2 each.
Attendees will need to purchase admission to the SkyWalk to gain entry, where they will be able to appreciate all of the usual sights and experiences the SkyWalk has to offer while browsing, playing games and enjoying some tasty drinks and food.
For those wanting to enjoy the afternoon without worrying about the drive home, return transportation packages are available from Victoria and the Cowichan Valley.
The $89.95 package includes return transportation from their chosen location, admission to the SkyWalk, a festival wristband and four tasting tokens.
