A man has been arrested after Oak Bay Police responded to reports of someone attempting to enter parked cars on Beach Drive.
At approximately 4:05 a.m. on Sunday, September 13th, police were called to the 1800 block of Beach Drive after a suspicious person was reportedly pulling on vehicle door handles.
Upon officers arriving, they located a person inside a parked vehicle nearby.
Nels Aaron Jorgensen was arrested and held for court. He has since been charged with assaulting a police officer, mischief and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.
Oak Bay Police are reminding residents to lock vehicles, remove valuables and report any suspicious activity when it is safe to do so.
In seperate incident, Oak Bay Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man suspected of breaking into a business on Oak Bay Avenue.
According to Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers, the man entered the business through a skylight at around 9:29 a.m. on August 23rd and stole cash and two employee cheques.
He is also suspected of unsuccessfully attempting to enter another business in the area before the break-in.
