Free transit offered to Victoria cyclists during GoByBike Week

This one’s for the cyclists!

The Victoria Regional Transit Commission and BC Transit have announced that transit will be free for cyclists during GoByBike Week.

GoByBike Week is hosted by Capital Bike and will be taking place from Saturday, September 19th to Friday, September 25th.

The week will feature a host of events throughout Victoria, including Celebration Stations at different locations throughout Greater Victoria every day of the week with free snacks and drinks.

BC Transit will be taking part at the City of Victoria Celebration Station at King Street and Ross Lane from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 24th, with representatives on-site to answer questions and give live bus bike rack demonstrations.

The week will also feature the GoByBike Week Challenge, where participants can log their bike rides, visit Celebration Stations and earn entries into prize draws based on how many challenges were completed.

Regardless of participation in the challenges, the bus will be free for all cyclists from September 19th to 25th.

Riders will be eligible for free transit either by using bus bike racks or by showing their bike helmet when boarding the bus.
