Sipsiptea is continuing their back yard concerts!

This Wednesday will feature Arrian Ciel, a singer and producer in Victoria.

Connect with each other in artful and infinite ways with a never-ending card craft.

Local filmmaker spotlight: Mildlife at The Vic Theatre

A hardcore drummer’s world is thrown off-beat when his girlfriend wants to leave their small town just as he’s struggling to care for his parents, who both live with cerebral palsy.

Mildlife is a coming-of-age film that follows Lawrence as he navigates every (not so) simple decision… one scream at a time.

This free event is put on by the City of Victoria in partnership with the Victoria Film Festival.

Neil Griffin in conversation with Deborah Campbell at Munro’s Books

Head to Munro’s to celebrate the launch of Endings: Encounters With Extinction by local author Neil Griffin!

The evening will include a compelling conversation led by award-winning journalist and author Deborah Campbell.

Griffin is a writer and naturalist from Calgary, Alberta where he was raised on the prairies and trained as a wildlife biologist.

For over a decade he tracked the disappearing and the dead of our world—from Canada’s boreal forests to the Amazon basin, from Ethiopia’s Afar desert to the Virunga Mountains of Rwanda—before giving up the glitz and glamour of tropical fieldwork for the financial stability of freelance writing.

He holds an MFA from the University of Victoria, where he is an instructor in the Department of Writing.

SixtyWatt Trivia at Spinnaker’s Brewpub

Head down to the Spinnaker’s Brewpub for their weekly pub trivia in partnership with SixtyWatt Trivia!

These events are always a riot.

SixtyWatt is a Victoria-based trivia company that is known as the “Mr. Fix it” of quiet pub nights.

They specialize in sarcasm, banter and some pretty great one liners that you may in fact want to write home about.

With four fun rounds, each team has a chance to rake in the prizes.

Trivia is free to play, but SixtyWatt does ask that you support the venue and purchase some food or beverages.
