A Victoria man has been sentenced to six and a half years in prison after being extradited from Germany.
On July 14th, now-convicted 29-year-old Isaac Oliveira Scott of Victoria was sentenced after pleading guilty to five criminal charges.
His charges included one count of trafficking a controlled substance, one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance and three firearms related offences.
Police say this four-year investigation stems from his activity in an interprovincial dark web distribution network in December 2022.
The investigation was conducted by the RCMP’s Federal Policing Pacific Region (FPPR) as well as their Drugs and Organized Crime (DOC) divisions.
Through this network, Oliveira Scott played a role in utilizing crypto currency to facilitate the sale and distribution of illegal drugs across Canada via Canada Post.
Oliveira Scott was arrested in February 2024, following the execution of a search warrant at a Lower Mainland residence. There, police seized fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, stolen firearms, ammunition, fraudulent identification documents and cash.
After his arrest, he was released pending further investigation.
According to police, Oliveira Scott fled Canada in May 2025 before charges could be laid against him. A Canada-wide warrant and Interpol Red Notice were issued for his arrest in early 2026, and he was then arrested by German authorities in February.
“FPPR investigators conducted a methodical [and] thorough investigation into these criminal offences,” said Corporal James Bennett, federal policing media relation officer, RCMP.
“The evidence collected against Oliveira Scott was considerable, and the results speak for themselves.”
Oliveira Scott has since been extradited back to Canada, and has been in Canadian custody since April 1st.
Now that he has pled guilty and been sentenced, Oliveira Scott will serve out his time in Canadian prison.

Though Oliveiro Scott has been sentenced, police say there is a second suspect still at large who is alleged to be connected to this investigation.
In mid-April, 2026, VicPD announced that 28-year-old Treshaun Thompson of Victoria, was still missing.
In 2025, VicPD issued multiple pleas to the public in an effort to locate Thompson, who was last seen on September 9th, 2025, in the Rockland neighbourhood.
At the time of VicPD’s last plea to the public, they said there was no confirmed link between the drug investigation and Thompson’s disappearance.
