VicPD seek man wanted on Canada-wide warrant after leaving parole facility

VicPD are seeking information related to the whereabouts of 40-year-old Christopher Hinton, who is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant. 

According to police, the warrant was issued for Hinton’s arrest after he left a Parole Community Residential Facility in Victoria without authorization on Friday, August 21st.

Hinton is described as a Caucasian man, standing 6’1” tall, weighing around 192 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. 

VicPD cautions the public to not approach him if seen. 

Hinton’s sentence has a remaining five years, five months and 11 days left on it and stems from convictions he received in 2022. 

Since then, he has received convictions for dangerous operation of a conveyance, flight from police while operating a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

He was also convicted for being in possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, operation while prohibited, using an imitation firearm while committing an offence and assaulting a peace officer. 

Anyone with information on Hinton’s whereabouts should call 911, citing file number 26-35391.
