More than 46K cruise ship passengers expected to visit Victoria this week

Victoria’s cruise ship season is heading into another busy week, with 16 vessels scheduled to visit Ogden Point between Monday, August 10th and Sunday, August 16th. 

The ships have a combined estimated capacity of 46,138 passengers, according to the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority’s cruise schedule.

That is one more ship than last week, although the combined passenger estimate is slightly lower.

Carnival Spirit will begin the week with a four-hour visit Monday evening. No ships are scheduled for Tuesday, but that break will be followed by five consecutive days with three ships arriving each day.

Thursday is expected to be the busiest day by passenger volume. Norwegian Joy, Voyager of the Seas and Celebrity Edge can carry an estimated 10,801 passengers combined.

Saturday follows closely with an estimated 10,216 passengers, while Friday’s three vessels account for another 9,914.

Anthem of the Seas is the largest ship of the week by passenger estimate, with capacity for 4,919 guests. The Royal Caribbean vessel features the North Star observation capsule, a simulated skydiving experience and bumper cars inside its SeaPlex activity space, according to the cruise line.

Another notable arrival will be Star Princess on Saturday. The 1,133-foot Sphere-class vessel entered service in October 2025 and can accommodate 4,300 guests across 21 decks, according to Princess Cruises.

At the other end of the scale, Azamara Pursuit is the smallest ship scheduled this week, with an estimated 777 passengers.

Fourteen of this week’s ships are scheduled to continue to Seattle after leaving Victoria. Azamara Pursuit and Crystal Symphony will travel to Vancouver.

• Celebrity Edge: 5:30 p.m. to 11:59 p.m., estimated 2,918 passengers

Friday, August 14th

• Norwegian Bliss: 7:30 p.m. to 11:59 p.m., estimated 4,250 passengers
• Eurodam: 8 p.m. to 11:59 p.m., estimated 2,104 passengers
• Royal Princess: 8:15 p.m. to 11:59 p.m., estimated 3,560 passengers

Saturday, August 15th

• Star Princess: 7 p.m. to 11:59 p.m., estimated 4,300 passengers
• Norwegian Encore: 7:45 p.m. to 11:59 p.m., estimated 3,998 passengers
• Noordam: 8 p.m. to 11:59 p.m., estimated 1,918 passengers

Sunday, August 16th

• Crystal Symphony: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., estimated 922 passengers
• Anthem of the Seas: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., estimated 4,919 passengers
• MSC Poesia: 7 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., estimated 3,013 passengers

Through Sunday, August 9th, the full schedule lists 218 cruise ship visits in Victoria since the season began on April 10th.

The passenger estimates attached to those visits total approximately 657,364.

If all 16 visits proceed this week, Victoria will have welcomed 234 cruise ships with combined passenger estimates surpassing 703,500 for the season.
