It’s Eventide day again, Victoria!

The Eventide Music Series is winding down for the season, with the penultimate show happening this Wednesday.

If those shows aren’t your jam, there will also be a show at Little Fernwood, art in the park at Beacon Hill Park, the Oaklands Sunset Market and a jazz jam at The Coda!

Flesh Produce, Cherub Weaponry and Still Depths at Eventide in Centennial Square

Catch some of the biggest names in Victoria’s music scene at Eventide!

Every Wednesday throughout the summer, Eventide has been putting on a free outdoor concert at Centennial Square, with a different promoter bringing different bands to the stage each week.

This week, Flesh Produce, Cherub Weaponry and Still Depths to the square.

Near Dark returns to curate an evening of experimental and weird sounds.

This is the penultimate show in the series, so make sure you don’t miss it!

Attendance is free and everyone is welcome.

Wax Mannequin, The Kettle Black and Lily Fawn Electric at Little Fernwood

Little Fernwood, also known as the Paul Philips Hall, is one of the most intimate venues in town, offering shows, gatherings and all kinds of community events.

This Tuesday they’ll host Wax Mannequin and The Kettle Black, supported by Lily Fawn Electric.

Wax Mannequin’s music veers from psych folk and art punk to absurdist metal, churning with dark satire.

Unsettling imagery and ambitious, hook-laden musicality frame a steady questioning of identity, politics and the strangeness of being.

Wax has released eight records and has appeared on thousands of pub, gallery and festival stages worldwide.

The event is described as a heavy audio-visceral experience.

Arts in the Park at Beacon Hill Park

Join the Embrace Arts Foundation for their “In The Park” summer series!

These informal arts-based events are a chance to gather as a community. At Beacon Hill Park they’ll be running Art in the Park!

It will be a time to connect through open-ended arts-and-crafts activities.

Attendance is free, however registration helps organizers know how many people will be arriving. Register here.

  • When: Wednesday, August 19th – 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Oaklands Sunset Market

The Oaklands Sunset Market is back for another nine weeks of summer fun!

Join them every Wednesday night until September 2nd for a night of food trucks, live music, a beer garden and more than 30 diverse vendors.

There’s no better way to spend a summer evening.

  • When: Wednesday, August 19th – 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Victoria Jazz Jam at The Coda

Victoria’s jazz community comes alive once a month at The Coda’s Jazz Jam, hosted by the incredible Tom Vickery Trio.

Whether you’re a seasoned player, a student finding your voice, or a jazz lover who simply enjoys great music, this is your chance to be part of one of Victoria’s most vibrant musical gatherings.

Musicians are invited to bring their instruments, sign up and join the house band and fellow players for an evening of jazz standards, spontaneous creativity and unforgettable musical moments.

Every jam is different, bringing together performers from across generations and experience levels in the true spirit of jazz.

Not a musician? Grab a ticket, settle in with a drink and enjoy a front-row seat to the magic as some of Victoria’s finest players, emerging talents and surprise guests create music together in real time.
