There’s plenty going on in the city this Thursday, from an event celebrating the power of peace, to music bingo supporting one of the city’s premier arts festivals, to live music and farmers markets, there’s something going on for everyone to enjoy.

Honouring Peace (Hiroshima Nagasaki Day) at Gorge Park Pavilion

Head down to a free, family-friendly event!

Honouring Peace will bring people together to celebrate and reflect on the power of peace.

At the Gorge Park Pavilion Honouring Peace is a special event where we enjoy an evening of music, culture, lantern-making and presentations dedicated to peace.

Attendees can make a Peace Lantern at 6 p.m., and cultural celebrations will follow at 7:30 p.m. with taiko drummers, Furusato dancers, Raging Grannies, Gettin’ Higher Choir and guest speaker Magritte Gordaneer all taking to the stage.

Don’t miss out on this chance to be part of something truly uplifting for all ages.

This is a free event, however donations are gracefully accepted.

Music Bingo Fundraiser at The Fernwood Inn for Fringe Festival

Head down to the Fernwood Inn for some music bingo!

This will be a night of music, prizes and mild mayhem. There will be hot-off-the-press Fringe guides there, so you can grab yours and start planning your 40th anniversary Fringe adventure.

Get your team together and celebrate!

All proceeds raised will support Intrepid Theatre’s 40th Annual Fringe Festival!

Adrian Chalifour at the Westshore Town Centre Summer Music Series

The Westshore Town Centre’s Summer Music Series is in full swing!

This will be the seventh show of the series, with Adrian Chalifour delivering some folky pop-rock with rasp-driven vocals, mixing original music and covers.

These events are going to be happening every Thursday evening at the Westshore Town Centre, on the pathway behind the RBC.

Soak up some summer atmosphere and grab some take-out from one of the many local restaurants!

These events are free and everyone is welcome to attend.

Esquimalt Farmers Market

This food-first market is a foodie’s dream!

Peruse an amazing selection of local businesses, pick up a delicious dinner from a hot food vendor and enjoy twice nightly musical performances while the kids run wild in the onsite playground.

In addition to food, there will be a fantastic selection of artisans and crafters yielding everything from soap to hand-printed tea towels, clothing, jewellery and more.

The weekly vendor map will be posted on the Esquimalt Market website so you can see who will be there each week and plan your trips.

Parking is limited at this location so organizers recommend walking, using transit (#15 or #26 bus) or riding your bicycle.
