The Victoria Fringe Festival is back from now until September 6th. Catch some world-class theatre at one of the many venues across the city!

Or, laugh out loud with some comedy at the Brass Monkey Taproom, head to the Esquimalt Farmers Market or catch the last free show of the season at the Westshore Town Centre!

Here are 5 things to do in and around Victoria this Thursday, August 27th :

Trippycals at Westshore Town Centre’s Summer Music Series

The Westshore Town Centre’s Summer Music Series has its last show of the season this week!

This week, catch Trippycals, who will be bringing tropical grooves, spicy rhythms and a vibe that hits straight to the hips.

These events take place at the pathway behind the RBC; however, if the weather is bad the performance will move indoors to Centre Court.

Soak up some summer atmosphere at the final show in the series and grab some take-out from one of the many local restaurants!

These events are free and everyone is welcome to attend.

Peepshow with Ruby, Cheesecakes and Friends for Fringe Festival in Fernwood Square

Ruby, Cheesecakes and Friends arrive fresh from the internationally renowned Edinburgh Festival Fringe for a multi-day spectacle at the Victoria Fringe Festival.

From August 27 to September 1st, experience a multi-gendered peepshow like no other—where performance art meets carnival mischief in the heart of Fernwood.

Hosted in Fernwood Square, this immersive pop-up blends bold performance with playful offerings, including carnival-style games, fresh popcorn, a signature kaleidoscope photo booth and electrifying, multi-gendered peepshow performances.

Expect artistry, humour, spectacle and community—all wrapped into one vibrant Fringe Festival experience.

Whether you’re a devoted Fringe-goer or simply looking for something wildly unique in Victoria this summer, this is your invitation to step inside.

This event is free and everyone is welcome to attend.

MAKE SOME NOISE – Live Stand-Up Comedy at the Brass Monkey Taproom

Grab a drink, settle in and enjoy a night packed with big laughs and unforgettable comedy at the Brass Monkey Taproom.

Whether you’re coming with friends, on a date or just need a reason to get out of the house, this is the show for you.

This show features Fedor Ikelaar, Tracy Hamilton, Roy Haber, Darren Millar, Lindsay Dancer and Elyott Ryan.

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased here.

Esquimalt Farmers Market

This food-first market is a foodie’s dream!

Peruse an amazing selection of local businesses, pick up a delicious dinner from a hot food vendor and enjoy twice nightly musical performances while the kids run wild in the onsite playground.

In addition to food, there will be a fantastic selection of artisans and crafters yielding everything from soap to hand-printed tea towels, clothing, jewellery and more.

The weekly vendor map will be posted on the Esquimalt Market website so you can see who will be there each week and plan your trips.

Parking is limited at this location so organizers recommend walking, using transit (#15 or #26 bus) or riding your bicycle.

A Kid Napping for Fringe Festival at Intrepid Studio

A Kid Napping is a dark comedy with heart.

Two ex-convicts hatch a disastrous school kidnapping scheme, only to find themselves responsible for a classroom of kindergarteners.

Goofballs Collective is a Vancouver-based theatre company dedicated to creating bold, accessible and joyfully chaotic original work.

Blending clown, comedy, physical theatre and heartfelt storytelling, the collective crafts productions that invite audiences to laugh, connect and embrace the beautifully absurd.

General admission tickets are $16 and can be purchased here.

You must also have a Fringe Button to see this show. Buttons can be purchased at the show or online here. If purchasing online, you will still need to pick up the button at the show.
