Who let the dogs out?

Baseball fans won’t have to leave their four-legged friends at home this Sunday, as the Victoria HarbourCats welcome dogs to Wilson’s Group Stadium for their annual Bark in the Park game.

The HarbourCats will host the Wenatchee AppleSox on Sunday, July 19th, with a special afternoon start time of 3:05 p.m.

It is the only HarbourCats game of the season where fans are invited to bring their dogs along to enjoy the action at Royal Athletic Park.

As part of Family Fun Sunday, kids and their parents will be invited onto the field to run the bases following the final out. Dogs, however, will have to watch that part from the sidelines.

HarbourCats players will also stick around after the game to sign autographs, take photos and meet fans.

Sunday’s game wraps up a three-game weekend series between Victoria and Wenatchee. The two teams will also meet Friday and Saturday night, with both games beginning at 6:35 p.m.

Victoria returns home after a strong series victory over the Kamloops NorthPaws before the West Coast League All-Star break.

The HarbourCats scored 12 runs in their final game of the series, marking the second consecutive game in which the team put a dozen runs on the board.

Doors open at 2 p.m. Sunday at Wilson’s Group Stadium at Royal Athletic Park, located at 1014 Caledonia Avenue.

Tickets for Bark in the Park are available online through Showpass.
