We’ve compiled a list of some of our favourite things going on around the city this Monday to put a smile on your face.

Here are 5 things to do in and around Victoria this Monday, July 6th:

The Gorge Farmers Market

The Gorge Farmers Market is finally back!

Happening every Monday until September 21st, the Gorge Farmers market will be setting up shop in Gorge Park.

This year, the market is celebrating its fifth season. Local food, live music, a beautiful view of the Gorge Waterway and over 50 vendors.

Get down to Gorge Park and buy local! The market is free and everyone is welcome to attend.

  • Where: Esquimalt Gorge Park, 1070 Tillicum Road
  • When: Monday, July 6th – 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Invasive plant removal at Saxe Point

Head down to Saxe Point and have fun helping to remove invasive plants!

These plants can smother the park, and removing them helps allow the native plants to re-establish and thrive, restoring the natural ecosystem.

Organizers suggest coming dressed for action and weather, and to bring a drink of some sort.

Tools are supplied, or attendees can bring their own.

Everyone is welcome to participate.

  • When: Monday, July 6th – 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

ShopTalk Comedy Open Mic at the Mint

Do your friends tell you that you should be a comic? Have you ever wanted to try comedy in front of an audience? This is your chance!

Try stand-up or watch comics try brand new material.

Join ShopTalk Comedy for an open mic at the Mint. New comics are welcome, spots are three to five minutes.

Tickets are $5 at the door or online. Purchase yours here.

  • When: Monday, July 6th – 7 p.m.

SixtyWatt Trivia at The Brass Monkey

Head down to The Brass Monkey for their weekly pub trivia in partnership with SixtyWatt Trivia!

These events are always a riot.

SixtyWatt is a Victoria-based trivia company that is known as the “Mr. Fix it” of quiet pub nights.

They specialize in sarcasm, banter and some pretty great one liners that you may in fact want to write home about.

With four fun rounds, each team has a chance to rake in the prizes.

Trivia is free to play, but SixtyWatt does ask that you support the venue and purchase some food or beverages.

  • When: Monday, July 6th – 7 p.m.

Learn Improv: Improv 101 at Theatre SKAM

Meet new people, learn and laugh in Improv 101!

Improv Foundations is the perfect class for the complete improv beginner – no experience necessary.

Second City veteran Kevin Matviw will teach the basics of improv comedy through the use of hilarious games and exercises.

This four-week class will take place on Monday nights from July 6th to July 27th.

Tickets for all four weeks are $149 plus fees and can be purchased here.
