North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP have arrested a young woman for allegedly stabbing a 41-year-old man in Duncan.
On Friday, May 1st, at around 11 p.m., patrol officers in the area of the London Drugs on Central Road when they located a 41‑year‑old man suffering from serious injuries.
Police say they determined that a female suspect had stabbed the man before fleeing the area.
The suspect’s description and direction of travel were communicated to other officers in the area, who located and arrested an 18‑year‑old woman.
“The victim received immediate medical attention at the scene but was urgently transported to hospital with life‑threatening injuries,” said Staff Sergeant Kris Clark of the BC RCMP.
“His condition is critical, but stable and he remains in hospital.”
According to police, this incident is believed to be isolated, and there is no ongoing risk to the public.
