VicPD are asking for the public’s aid in locating Parminder, a man who is considered a “high-risk missing person.”
The missing man’s last name was not shared by police.
Police say Parminder was reported missing after he was last seen on Friday, May 22nd at around 6 p.m. He was reportedly leaving the area of the 200 block of Gorge Road East.
Since then, VicPD say he was seen in Duncan on Saturday, May 23rd at around 6:15 p.m.
North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP have confirmed he was dropped off by a rideshare service outside a business in the 100 block of the Trans-Canada Highway.
As a result, officers have extended their request for the public’s assistance into the Cowichan Valley.
Parminder is in his mid-30s and police describe him as being 6 feet tall, with a lean build, dark eyes and a shaved head.
At the time of his disappearance, he was reportedly wearing a black baseball hat, a black jacket and black pants.
“Due to the circumstances of his disappearance, police are treating this as a high-risk case,” said VicPD in a media release.
VicPD classifies a missing person as “high-risk” if their health or well-being is thought to be in immediate danger.
Some criteria considered when designating a person as high-risk includes, age and vulnerability, medical or mental health needs, suspected foul play, dangerous environment, lifestyle or group risk and out-of-character behaviour.
Anyone who has seen Parminder or has any information regarding his whereabouts should contact your local police department.
