Want to try a new type of workout, Victoria?
HYROX is one of the fastest-growing fitness trends in the world, combining endurance, strength, and functional fitness into one energetic, community-driven training format.
In Victoria, BPM Fitness Centre, a locally-owned-and-operated training centre, is helping introduce more people to the growing sport.
Located at 800b Cloverdale Avenue, BPM was an early enthusiast of HYROX. They’re the first official HYROX training centre on Vancouver Island, and the second in BC.
While HYROX has gained global attention through large-scale fitness races, BPM’s classes are designed for everyone—from complete beginners to experienced athletes.
Every workout can be modified to match individual fitness levels, making the classes approachable, supportive, and fun while making sure attendees still push themselves.
HYROX workouts combine functional training stations with simple movements like pushing sleds, rowing, carrying kettlebells, lunging, and running in short intervals.
The focus is on building real-world fitness, improving confidence, and helping people feel stronger both physically and mentally.
“People often assume HYROX is only for elite athletes, but that couldn’t be further from the truth,” said BPM owner and head coach Keelan Clemens.
“The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming. Members encourage each other, classes are high-energy, and people genuinely have fun while training.”
BPM features two training studios equipped specifically for HYROX-style classes, including large turf lanes, sled stations, Concept2 rowers, ski ergs, kettlebells, sandbags, and functional strength equipment.
Each 60-minute class is coach-led and designed to improve cardiovascular fitness, endurance, strength, mobility, and overall conditioning while creating an encouraging environment that keeps people motivated and consistent.
BPM also offers flexible class packages, including its popular “12 for 20” option, which gives members 12 HYROX classes at $20 per class. For more information on their classes, click here.
