Dashcam footage sought after suspicious vehicle fires in Saanich

Two vehicles were destroyed in a suspicious fire in Saanich and police are now asking witnesses and drivers with dashcam footage to come forward.

According to Saanich Police, officers responded to reports of a vehicle fire in the 3200 block of Glasgow Avenue around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 23rd.

When officers arrived, they found two vehicles fully engulfed in flames. Police contained the area while crews from Saanich Fire Department worked to extinguish the fire.

Forensic Identification Section officers attended the scene to gather evidence, while the Major Crime Unit investigated the fires.

Police said both fires are considered suspicious.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or was travelling through the area around the time of the fire and may have dashcam footage is asked to contact Saanich police at (250) 475-4321 and reference file number 26-9569.
