The City of Victoria has launched a new online court reservation system for residents to book their tennis and pickleball court in advance.
The aim of this new system was to make it easier to reserve a court in advance and avoid disputes.
Players can now quickly check court availability, secure a court up to three weeks in advance and avoid the uncertainty of showing up at a busy court.
There will still be dedicated drop-in courts throughout town to allow the spontaneous player ease of access, while providing more choice and flexibility for those who prefer to plan ahead.
“As demand for court time grows, we’re focused on making it easier for players to find and book a court,” said Derrick Newman, Director of Parks and Recreation.
“This new system helps take the guesswork out of finding a court.”
Following the creation of the 2024 Regional Pickleball Strategy for Victoria, Saanich, Oak Bay and Esquimalt, the City identified a strong demand for more reliable court time and designed the reservation system in response to this growing need.
