Sooke RCMP are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man linked to two separate reports of concerning behaviour in public spaces last month.

According to investigators, the first incident took place on March 23rd at Otter Point Park, where a man allegedly followed a woman while acting in a sexual manner.

The woman was able to leave the area safely and reported the incident to police. Officers searched the area at the time but were unable to locate the suspect.

A second incident was reported just days later, on March 27th, near Gordons Beach along the 8600 block of West Coast Road.

In that case, a man was allegedly seen masturbating in the woods before being interrupted by a passerby. He then left the area.

Police say the suspect in both incidents matches the same description, a Caucasian man in his 20s, about 5’9″ tall with a slim build, brown hair and a beard. He was reportedly wearing a black jacket and black pants, along with distinctive large orange glasses.

Investigators also believe the man may be connected to a small black SUV, possibly an older model GMC Jimmy or Chevrolet Blazer.

Anyone who recognizes the description or has information that could help identify the suspect is asked to contact Sooke RCMP at (250) 642-5241.
