Police were called to a sudden death at the Cowichan Bay Fisherman’s Wharf over the weekend, where a body was later recovered.
In a statement, BC RCMP said officers responded to reports of a sudden death on Saturday, April 18th, and worked to remove the body from the area.
Police say the death does not appear to be criminal in nature.
The BC Coroners Service has taken conduct of the investigation and will determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
BC Emergency Health Services said paramedics were called to the scene just after 11 a.m., though no patients were transported to hospital.
No further details have been released.
