After last weekend’s rain, Family Day weekend is looking like it will offer a slight reprieve from Victoria’s typical February conditions.
Though the skies are expected to be clear for most of the long weekend, temperatures will drop slightly and there may be some precipitation throughout Monday.
Leading up to the Family Day weekend, there will be a mix of sun, cloud and showers.
Beginning with Wednesday, February 11th, Environment Canada predicts that Victoria can expect mostly clear skies with some cloud forming in the late evening. The high is expected to be around 11°C and the overnight low will drop down to 2°C.
On Thursday, a partly cloudy day can be expected, with a high of around 10°C. Overnight, there is a 60% chance of showers with a predicted low of 4°C.
Friday’s forecast is calling for showers throughout the day and a predicted high of 10°C. Overnight the rain should clear, but the temperature will drop down to around 1°C.
To start the long weekend off, Saturday will bring with it clear, sunny skies, but the high will only reach up to 8°C, according to Environment Canada. The overnight low is predicted to be 0°C.
Sunday’s daytime forecast will be similarly sunny with clear skies, but the high is only expected to reach 7°C. Overnight, Environment Canada says there is a 60% chance of flurries or rain showers and the low will drop down to 1°C.
Then on Monday, the national weather authority predicts a 60% chance of showers throughout the day with a high of 7°C again. Overnight, the forecast is once again calling for a 60% chance of flurries or showers and a low of 1°C.

Between 2014 and 2025, historical weather data shows that in mid-February, the highest the temperature has been was in 2016, when the daytime high reached 11.5°C. The lowest recorded temperature in that timeframe was -3.8°C in 2023.
In mid-February 2019, there was around 37 centimeters of snow on the ground at Victoria International Airport.
So though temperatures may be dipping slightly this Family Day long weekend, compared to some year’s past, Victoria’s 2026 forecast is not too bad.
