Victoria Conservatory of Music’s most important performance of the year will ignite musical spirit on Saturday, February 21st.
Spark to Flame 2026 is an annual student concert experience presented by the Ann & George Nation Conservatory School of Classical Music, celebrating the next generation of musical talent.
This year’s performance features seven student soloists, each chosen through a rigorous audition process, joined by an ensemble of their peers, faculty, and professional musicians.
Soloists include Tyler Evans-Knott on flute, Marlo Karakas on vocals, Angela Pan on piano, Walter Reese on violin, Daniel Sanabria Torres on flute, Hope Syyong on violin, and Filbert Zhang on piano.
“The opportunity for a young soloist to perform with a conductor and orchestra in a supportive environment is so special and just amplifies the artistic voices of these talented young players – and how the world needs to hear the voices of our young people right now,” said Tricia Baldwin, dean at the Victoria Conservatory of Music.
