Saanich Police investigating after numerous vehicles engulfed in flames

Saanich Police have launched an investigation into an incident which saw numerous cars engulfed in flames. 

Just before 9 p.m. on January 30th, officers responded to the 100 block of Cadillac Avenue near Mt. View Park after receiving a report of an explosion and vehicles on fire.

Police say they discovered three vehicles fully engulfed in flames upon arrival. 

The Saanich Fire Department also attended the scene and were able to quickly extinguish the fires. 

There was reportedly no damage to the homes nearby, other nearby vehicles and no one was injured during the vehicle fires. 

The Saanich Police Major Crime Unit has taken over the file and are still investigating the cause of the fires.

Police say at this time, the fires are being considered suspicious.
