Pacific FC to split home schedule between Langford and Victoria in 2026 season

Pacific FC has officially unveiled its 2026 Canadian Premier League schedule, confirming the club will play four regular season home matches at Royal Athletic Park, with the remaining 10 home games staying at Starlight Stadium.

The move comes amid ongoing uncertainty surrounding the club’s long-term relationship with the City of Langford, though Pacific FC did not directly reference the dispute in Monday’s announcement.

According to the club, the four matches at Royal Athletic Park will take place on April 26th, May 3rd, October 11th, and October 25th, the final day of the regular season.

Pacific previously played one regular season match at RAP in September 2025, a sold-out game the club described as a highlight of last year.

“We look forward to welcoming back fans to both Starlight Stadium and Royal Athletic Park this season,” said head coach James Merriman.

“Our team is incredibly hungry, focused, and motivated. We know there is great work to be done and we’ve had our challenges both on and off the field, but we believe we still have strong support in our community.”

Pacific FC will open its 2026 CPL campaign on Saturday, April 5th, hosting Cavalry FC at Starlight Stadium.

Royal Athletic Park will be shared by two professional teams in 2026, with Victoria HarbourCats also calling the venue home.

While most of the HarbourCats’ season runs from June 2nd through August 3rd, a collegiate baseball series scheduled for April 25th and 26th overlaps with Pacific FC’s April 26th match, creating a one-day conflict at the historic venue.

Pacific FC noted it will be playing on two different playing surfaces this season, with artificial turf at Starlight Stadium and a separate surface at Royal Athletic Park.

The schedule announcement follows recent reporting that Pacific FC is operating under a temporary, game-by-game agreement with the City of Langford after negotiations over a new stadium-use deal stalled.

Under the current arrangement, the club is required to pre-pay stadium-use fees at least two weeks before each match. City officials have said the move is intended to protect taxpayers while allowing the 2026 season to proceed.

Langford councillor Keith Yacucha has described the situation as unsustainable, while the club has said there are “material areas of disagreement” over how existing agreements are being interpreted and applied.

Pacific FC has confirmed it will pay the required fees to ensure the season moves forward and says it remains open to resolving the dispute and securing a longer-term agreement in Langford.

For now, the club will split its home schedule between Langford and downtown Victoria, bringing Canadian Premier League action to both sides of the region in 2026.
