Our Place Society is celebrating beauty, resilience, and strength with Beauty Day on Friday, February 13th.
This special day centres around community and connection, bringing a little Valentine’s Day sparkle to women and those identifying as women of all ages who access Our Place programs.
Sponsored by The Natural Hair Salon, participants will enjoy a day of hair and beauty services, warm conversations, and thoughtfully prepared gift bags.
For many of these women, daily life is focused on meeting basic needs—Beauty Day creates space to feel cared for, valued, and seen.
“Beauty Day means more than just hair and makeup,” said Debra, an Our Place member.
“It’s about feeling seen. When someone takes the time to do something kind for you, it reminds you that you matter—and that gives you strength.”
Our Place supports people in Greater Victoria as they move from surviving to thriving, offering meals, health care, shelter, addiction recovery, counselling, and other essential services that help them take their next step forward.
The organization serves over 1,000 meals daily and offers more than 500 housing and shelter spaces, while also hosting events like Beauty Day to empower the community.
