Oak Bay Police have launched an investigation into the theft of two decorative garden statues that were recently stolen.

The statues were allegedly taken from a residence in the 3600 block of Beach Drive sometime between the evening of February 11th and the afternoon of February 14th.

Police say that in that timeframe, they believe an unknown person or persons removed the two cherub statues, each weighing approximately 40 pounds.

The statues were reportedly on display in the rear yard of the property that was not easily visible from the road.

The statues are described as older, and are of significant sentimental value to the homeowner.

According to Oak Bay Police, this incident of alleged theft has marked similarities to a prior incident of statue theft that was reported in early January.

Though the situations are similar, police noted there is no evidence or information at this time to confirm if these incidents are related.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Oak Bay Police, citing file 2026-460.
