Sidney/North Saanich RCMP are investigating what they believe to be a string of related property crimes that unfolded over the weekend.

Police say the incidents began in the early morning hours of February 22nd, when officers responded to an alarm at a gas station on Tsarlip First Nation.

When they arrived, they discovered the business had been broken into and its safe stolen.

Later that same day, two men were reportedly seen attempting to force open a safe at Jenner Beach in Cordova Bay.

The suspects were seen leaving the area in an older blue Toyota pickup truck.

On February 23rd, officers received a report of a stolen 1995 Dodge Ram from a Sidney transmission shop, along with an attempted theft of another vehicle from the same location.

The stolen truck was later recovered in North Saanich.

Police also responded to a break and enter at an equipment rental business in Sidney, where three Stihl saws and a safe were reported stolen.

Investigators believe the series of incidents may be connected and say the files remain under active investigation.

Sidney/North Saanich RCMP are asking anyone with information about suspicious people or activity related to these crimes to contact them at (250) 656-3931.
