Nanaimo RCMP have revealed that a massive amount of drugs and guns were seized during a search warrant execution that took place near the police detachment’s headquarters.
The seizure took place on November 14th, 2025, when the Nanaimo RCMP’s drug unit and the Island District Emergency Response Team (ERT) raided a residence located in the 200 block of Milton Street.
The residence in question was located approximately 200 meters from the Nanaimo RCMP detachment.
In the residence, police allegedly found
- Over 30 grams of cocaine
- Nearly 100 grams of a fentanyl mixture
- 55 bottles of methadone
- Nearly 600 morphine capsules
- Various drug‑trafficking paraphernalia
Investigators also reportedly recovered two conducted energy weapons (tasers), two .22 calibre rifles, a 3D‑printed pistol, three shotguns and a significant quantity of assorted ammunition.
Then earlier this month, on February 10th, prosecutors approved numerous charges against 53-year-old Dylan Tanti and 39-year-old Charlotte Cargill, the two individuals allegedly associated with the residence.
Police noted that at the time of his arrest, Tanti was allegedly found in possession of 3.46 grams of cocaine and 14.53 grams of fentanyl.
Tanti now faces 20 charges related to trafficking drugs and possessing weapons, while Cargill faces 17 charges.
Because the duo were released after their initial arrest, additional warrants were recently issued for both individuals.
Tanti was located and arrested on February 14th and remains in custody, but Cargill has not been located.
“This investigation highlights the critical importance of street level drug enforcement in our community,” said Inspector Donovan Tait, Nanaimo RCMP.
“The volume of dangerous substances and firearms seized in this case represents a significant threat to public safety, especially given the home’s proximity to essential services and vulnerable residents.”
Police now ask that anyone with information on the whereabouts of Charlotte Cargill call Nanaimo RCMP at (250) 754‑2345.
