Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for Greater Victoria, with strong southeast winds expected to sweep through parts of the region on Sunday.

The warning, issued at 10:03 a.m. Saturday, indicates southeast winds could gust up to 90 km/h Sunday morning in neighbourhoods near the Haro Strait and Juan de Fuca Strait as a disturbance passes near Vancouver Island.

Conditions are expected to become blustery early Sunday morning, with winds remaining strong through the afternoon before easing early Sunday evening.

Environment Canada says the impact level is considered moderate, with high forecast confidence.

Residents are advised to secure loose outdoor objects and continue monitoring updates from Environment Canada.
