VicPD are asking for the public’s help following what they describe as a close call involving a pickup truck and another driver in downtown Victoria last month.
According to police, the incident occurred on January 24th, at approximately 9:30 p.m. in the 1300-block of Yates Street.
Police say the victim reported that a truck pulled up and pinned them against their vehicle. The person inside the truck allegedly yelled profanities before driving away from the scene.
Officers have since reviewed surveillance footage from the area and are continuing efforts to identify both the driver and the owner of the vehicle involved.
The vehicle is described as a dark grey Dodge Ram 1500 crew cab with chrome front and rear bumpers and black rims.
It was displaying an “N” sign on the back and had a silver-coloured headache rack and an aluminum toolbox in the bed. Police say there was also a white Browning deer head sticker in the centre of the rear window.
The victim was not injured and declined support from paramedics.
Anyone with information who has not yet spoken with investigators is asked to contact the E-Comm non-emergency line at (250) 995-7654 and reference file number 26-3367.
