West Shore RCMP have released photos of a suspect vehicle as they continue to investigate a hit and run that occurred Thursday evening on the Trans-Canada Highway in View Royal.

Police say the collision happened around 7 p.m. on January 15th near the 1700 block of the Trans-Canada Highway.

Dashcam footage reviewed by investigators shows two vehicles travelling westbound when a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck attempted to pass a Toyota Matrix on the right.

The truck then abruptly moved back into the left lane, striking the front passenger-side fender of the Toyota.

The pickup truck did not stop and left the scene.

As part of the investigation, police have released images taken from dash camera footage in an effort to identify the suspect vehicle and its driver.

The truck is described as a beige Chevrolet Silverado, believed to be a 2005 or 2006 model. It has a light-coloured overhead utility rack and was carrying a large package in the truck bed.

Police say the vehicle will likely have damage to the rear driver-side quarter panel or bumper area.

Anyone who can identify the driver or has information related to the incident is asked to contact West Shore RCMP at (250) 474-2264. Anonymous tips can also be submitted online or through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
