The Victoria women’s curling team claimed the provincial crown on Sunday after defeating Kelowna in a thrilling final over Kelowna to earn a spot in the 2026 Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

The six day championships were held at the Archie Browning Sporting Centre in Esquimalt and featured 35 men’s and women’s teams and over 200 athletes competing for provincial titles.

This marks the second time the championships have been hosted in Esquimalt in the last three years—the first was in 2024—and celebrates two major milestones: the 90th Men’s Championship and the 75th Women’s Championship.

Skipped by Taylor Reese-Hansen, the Victoria women’s team battled for nearly three hours to claim victory, thrilling fans who packed the stands to cheer on their local champions.

The Victoria men’s team, led by Jason Montgomery, also reached the finals, narrowly losing 6–5 to Delta in another intense match.

With this win, Victoria’s women’s team will represent BC at the 2026 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, taking place in Mississauga, ON from January 23rd to February 1st.
