Victoria has ranked number one as Canada’s best city for achieving wealth-life balance, and meeting your financial goals, according to a Tangerine Bank report.

In the report, wealth-life balance refers to “the point where financial progress meets real-life satisfaction.”

The city’s natural beauty and relaxed pace contribute to an unmatched quality of life. Rising economic opportunities across multiple industries also make Victoria a compelling place for wealth creation.

To determine the rankings, Tangerine Bank used AskPolly.ai, a social listening platform that analyzes online conversations to identify public sentiment.

After analyzing thousands of conversations centred around money, work, and lifestyle across more than 20 Canadian cities, Victoria topped the list.

Two key indicators were examined for each city: joy score, which measures positive emotional sentiment on a scale from Very Low to Very High, and importance rank, which shows how strongly and frequently people talk about a specific financial or life goal on a scale from 1 to 5.

Victoria’s joy score for career growth was very high and high for buying real estate. There was also strong satisfaction and importance placed on saving for retirement.

For Victorians, these metrics combined to reveal that they feel both motivated and supported in reaching their goals.

Tangerine Bank is a national online bank owned by Scotiabank.

The report also ranked cities for raising a family, buying a home, and saving for retirement, further highlighting how Victoria continues to stand out nationwide.

Other cities listed in this report include Vancouver, best city for entrepreneurship, Calgary, best city for work and play, and Saskatoon, best city for raising a family.
