A section of Sooke Road in Metchosin remains closed Tuesday afternoon as police investigate a serious two-vehicle collision that left at least one person with life-threatening injuries.
According to West Shore RCMP, officers were called to a crash on Sooke Road just before Kangaroo Road at approximately 1:20 p.m. on January 27th.
The collision occurred in the 4100 block of Sooke Road, which has been shut down in both directions while emergency crews and police remain on scene.
Police say the road is expected to remain closed for several hours as the investigation continues.
Police confirmed the crash resulted in serious, life-threatening injuries. A collision reconstructionist has been called in to examine the scene.
Kangaroo Road remains open and is being used as an alternate route for motorists travelling to and from the West Shore.
There is no estimated time for when Sooke Road will reopen. Police are asking drivers to avoid the area and thank the public for their patience.
