Saanich Police charge suspect following early-morning stabbing

Saanich Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred at a home over the weekend.

Police say officers were called to a disturbance at a residence in the 1000 block of Kenneth Street just before 5 a.m. on Saturday, January 10th.

When officers arrived, they located two individuals inside the home.

One person had suffered a stab wound and required immediate medical attention. Officers provided first aid until paramedics arrived, and the injured person was transported to hospital.

Police say the injuries are considered serious but are not believed to be life-threatening.

The second individual was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and breach of conditions.

Police say the accused remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
