A man remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries after a serious assault in Langford on Thursday afternoon.
According to West Shore RCMP, officers were called at approximately 4:15 p.m. on January 22nd to reports of an adult male who had been severely assaulted near Goldstream Park, close to the 1100 block of Finlayson Arm Road.
Witnesses reported finding the injured man in the park and providing first aid until police arrived. The victim was taken to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.
His current condition has not been publicly updated.
Police say no arrests have been made and investigators believe the incident was targeted, adding there is no information at this time to suggest an ongoing risk to the public.
The investigation is being led by the West Shore RCMP Serious Crimes Unit, with assistance from Police Dog Services and Forensic Identification Services. The investigation remains ongoing, and police say no further details can be released.
Investigators are asking anyone with dashcam footage from the area of the Trans-Canada Highway at Goldstream Park or Finlayson Arm Road between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on January 22nd to contact police.
